Job Title: Electric Vehicle Service Technician

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Electric Vehicle Service Technician to join our team at Simple Energy Private Limited. As an EV Service Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, functionality, and customer satisfaction of our electric vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostic and Troubleshooting: Perform diagnostic tests to identify issues with EV scooters, troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software-related problems to determine root causes.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Conduct repairs and maintenance tasks on EV scooters, including battery replacements, brake adjustments, tire changes, and software updates, ensuring all work is performed according to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
  • Vehicle Inspection: Perform routine inspections to assess the condition of EV scooters, check for wear and tear, damages, and potential safety hazards, and recommend necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand their concerns and provide technical assistance, explain repair options, costs, and timelines clearly, and ensure a positive customer experience throughout the service process.
  • Parts Replacement: Replace faulty or worn-out parts, such as motors, controllers, brakes, lights, and other components, maintain an inventory of spare parts, and coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement.
  • Software Updates: Install and update software systems in EV scooters to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compatibility with new features or improvements.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing repairs and maintenance tasks, ensure that EV scooters meet safety standards and legal requirements.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service activities, repairs performed, parts used, and customer interactions, complete service reports and documentation for record-keeping and analysis.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks on completed repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure that EV scooters are functioning correctly and reliably, conduct test rides or inspections to verify repairs.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with EV scooter technology advancements, new models, and manufacturer guidelines through training programs, workshops, or self-study, apply new knowledge and skills to improve service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Strong Knowledge: Strong knowledge of electric vehicle systems, including batteries, motors, controllers, and charging systems, familiarity with diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting.
  • Education: Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent, additional technical training or certifications in automotive technology, electrical systems, or EV maintenance is advantageous.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with customers, understand their needs, and provide satisfactory solutions.
