Raw Material Procurement Specialist

The Raw Material Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in the manufacturing of solar mounting structures, transmission towers, and wind towers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for raw materials like HRC, coated steel, and hot rolled plates based on production demands and market conditions.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and maintain a robust supply chain.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve procurement-related issues to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations for steel products and adjust purchasing plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate closely with production, quality control, finance, and plant planning teams to align procurement with manufacturing needs and quality standards.
  • Manage inventory levels effectively to balance between availability and cost.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and prepare reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier evaluations.
  • Support vendor development and conduct periodic supplier audits for quality and delivery performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Materials Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in raw material procurement in steel or manufacturing industries, preferably related to construction or heavy engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of HRC, coated steel, hot rolled plates, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse market trends and make data-driven procurement decisions.
  • Proficient in procurement SAP Hana applications.
  • Strong organisational skills with an ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of import/export procedures is a plus.
