Azure Data Engineer Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer to support our data engineering platform powered by Databricks. This role combines DevOps practices, system reliability, and security auditing to ensure our data infrastructure is robust, secure, and scalable.

  • Maintain and monitor Databricks-based data pipelines and Azure data services to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps for data engineering workflows to streamline processes and reduce manual errors.
  • Conduct regular system health checks and performance tuning of clusters and jobs to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform or ARM templates to increase efficiency and reduce human error.
  • Utilize monitoring tools to track system metrics and alert on anomalies to ensure prompt issue resolution and minimize downtime.
  • Perform security audits to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage sensitive information and credentials securely to prevent unauthorized access and maintain confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with security teams to enforce network security and data encryption policies to safeguard data and systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, cloud operations, or data platform support.
  • Proficiency in Azure services, Databricks, and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and infrastructure-as-code solutions to streamline development and deployment processes.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and auditing tools in cloud environments to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and proactive approach to system reliability to minimize downtime and ensure high availability.
