Project Management Expert - Data Protection

Our organization seeks a seasoned Project Management expert to spearhead their Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) compliance initiative. The successful candidate will oversee end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of the project in alignment with Bermuda's data protection regulations, modeled closely on the European Union's GDPR framework.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing regulatory or compliance-driven projects, preferably in the financial services sector. They should possess an in-depth understanding of data privacy regulations (PIPA, GDPR, or similar), strong stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.

The selected individual will be responsible for:

  • Conducting a comprehensive assessment of current data privacy policies, systems, and processes to identify gaps against PIPA requirements.
  • Working with various departments to define and implement appropriate controls for data collection, storage, access, and sharing.
  • Establishing governance structures, reporting mechanisms, and escalation paths to ensure compliance tracking and accountability.
  • Designing and facilitating training and awareness programs for staff on data protection principles and responsibilities under PIPA.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create actionable business processes aligned with legal and regulatory frameworks.
