Electrical Design Engineer for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

  • Role Overview:
  • We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with expertise in designing and installing electric vehicle charging stations. The successful candidate will work within our teams to create innovative and sustainable solutions for the future.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for EV charging stations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Conduct site surveys to determine installation requirements and ensure high-quality results.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and installation manuals.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve existing designs and develop new ones.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, preferably with a background in EV charging systems.
  • BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is highly desirable.
  • 20+ years of experience in designing EV charging stations is preferred.
  • Expertise in working with DNOs and understanding connection requirements for distribution and grid code is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK wiring regulations, British Standards, ENA Standards, and International Standards relevant to electrical installations.
  • Able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proactive attitude towards overcoming project-related challenges and continuously improving processes.
