We are seeking an experienced Technical Editor to join our team.
About The Role
- The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a passion for working with writers, engineers, designers, architects, and product managers to create high-quality documentation.
- They will be adept at editing technical content for clarity, punctuation, grammar, content, and structure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with writers to produce best-in-class documentation.
- Develop and maintain Rubrik-specific styles and standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our technical writing and editing process.
- Provide valuable insight for information strategies that help us innovate in the cloud space.
Requirements:
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of English grammar, including word types, syntax, punctuation, and jargon.
- Familiarity with documentation manuals such as Microsoft Manual of Style and Chicago Manual of Style.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Eagerness to provide training and work closely with other editors and members of the writing team to ensure consistency in voice, style, and presentation.
- Ability to manage content and perform editing tasks using Git and GitHub.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA degree in Technical Writing, English, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum seven to eight years of experience writing and editing technical content.
- Extensive knowledge of Oxygen XML Author or a similar product to work with DITA/XML source.
