Job Title: Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead our geotechnical team in a large-scale open pit mine operation with a complex geological setting.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned geotechnical expert to take on a leadership role, leveraging their technical expertise and industry knowledge to drive project success.

The successful candidate will be accountable for geotechnical studies, preparation of pre-feasibility and feasibility reports, stability analysis, simulation modeling, and slope stabilization and monitoring aspects.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and maintenance, to ensure seamless execution of geotechnical-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead geotechnical studies, including site investigations, laboratory testing, and numerical modeling.
  • Develop and implement geotechnical strategies for pit design, slope stabilization, and monitoring.
  • Prepare pre-feasibility and feasibility reports, including cost estimates and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize geotechnical risks and opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Postgraduate degree in Geological Science/Geology/Applied Geology/Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably in open pit mining.
  • Proven track record of leading geotechnical teams and delivering high-quality results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
