Project Planning Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled Project Planning Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of planning, scheduling, and programming of work.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery aligned with scope, time, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Lead project planning input on assigned projects, including managing contributions from other planners to ensure consistent and effective delivery.
  • Establish baseline schedules and control procedures, monitoring progress to ensure early identification of issues.
  • Provide regular progress and earned value reports to support financial forecasting and enable timely corrective actions.
  • Assist senior planners in monitoring project risks, issues, resource allocation, and CPM analysis.
Key Competencies / Skills

Mandatory Skills:

  • Strong expertise in project scheduling and proven experience with planning tools such as Primavera P6, Primavera Risk Analysis, and Microsoft Project.
  • Solid understanding and application of Critical Path Analysis, Earned Value Techniques, and general project management principles.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word for creating tools and dashboards to support stakeholder communication.
  • In-depth knowledge of project scheduling philosophies, principles, practices, and techniques.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with P6 & Microsoft Project 2013
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior planners to deliver planning outputs on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Typically, 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in project scheduling.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., CAPM, PMP, or PRINCE2).
