This role is ideal for someone with strong proficiency in Ruby, including language fundamentals, idioms, metaprogramming, and experience with frameworks like Ruby on Rails, Grape, ActiveRecord, ActiveJob, ActionCable, and ActiveModel validations.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable back-end systems using Ruby on Rails
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and implement solutions
  • Deploy and optimize Passenger, Thin, and other Ruby web servers
  • Proficiently use PostgreSQL and advanced usage of ActiveRecord
  • Optimize N+1 queries, indexes, and query plans
  • Familiarity with Bundler, Rake, Rubygems, Gem building, and custom gem publishing

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ruby Proficiency
  • Deep understanding of OOP, mixins, blocks, procs, and lambdas
  • Familiarity with memory management, GC tuning, and performance profiling
  • Experience with frameworks like Ruby on Rails,Grape ActiveRecord, ActiveJob, ActionCable, ActiveModel validations, Engines, initializers, routing, and lifecycle callbacks
  • Comfortable deploying and optimizing Passenger, Thin
  • Deeper understanding of Thread vs. process models, Connection handling, worker tuning, memory profiling
  • PostgreSQL and advanced usage of ActiveRecord
  • Experience optimizing N+1 queries, indexes, and query plans
  • Proficient with Bundler, Rake, Rubygems
  • Gem building and custom gem publishing
