**Job Description:** We're seeking a skilled Principal Engineer, Site Reliability to lead the operational health of our Accounting and Finance platforms. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, scalability, and operational excellence of these systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Operational Oversight: Ensuring day-to-day operations for Accounting and Finance applications and data platforms meet business expectations.
  2. Reliability & Availability: Guaranteeing Accounting and Finance platforms meet defined SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs for performance, reliability, and uptime.
  3. Automation & Efficiency: Building automation for deployments, monitoring, scaling, and self-healing capabilities to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
  4. Observability & Monitoring: Implementing and maintaining comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging for accounting applications and data pipelines.
  5. Incident Response: Leading and participating in on-call rotations, performing root cause analysis, and driving improvements to prevent recurrence of production issues.
  6. Operational Excellence: Establishing and enforcing best practices for capacity planning, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and compliance controls in financial systems.
  7. Collaboration with Engineering & Finance: Partnering with software engineers, data engineers, and Finance/Accounting teams to ensure operational needs are met from development through production.
  8. Team Coordination: Managing workload, priorities, and escalations for operations staff and partner teams, ensuring alignment with SLAs and compliance requirements.
  9. Security & Compliance: Ensuring financial applications and data pipelines meet audit, compliance, and security requirements.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Driving post-incident reviews, implementing lessons learned, and proactively identifying opportunities to improve system resilience.
