Fire Alarm Systems Engineer

This is a challenging role that requires the ability to design and implement fire alarm systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of fire alarm systems, including Simplex, Edwards, and Notifier.

The Fire Alarm Systems Engineer will be responsible for reviewing technical specifications of projects to understand project requirements. They will also prepare technical submittals, send RFQs with suppliers, and prepare compliance documents and cost comparisons.

The successful candidate will demonstrate adherence to operational process requirements to drive efficiency. They will maintain strong domain knowledge of fire alarm systems and act as an interface to customers, ensuring that projects are executed within agreed schedules and budgets.

The Fire Alarm Systems Engineer will work independently and carry out post-sales design and engineering of fire alarm hardware detail design, engineering, and application development. They will develop typical templates for complex systems and develop project-specific standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing technical specifications of projects to understand project requirements
  • Preparing technical submittals, sending RFQs with suppliers, and preparing compliance documents and cost comparisons
  • Demonstrating adherence to operational process requirements to drive efficiency
  • Maintaining strong domain knowledge of fire alarm systems, including Simplex, Edwards, and Notifier
  • Acting as an interface to customers, ensuring that projects are executed within agreed schedules and budgets
  • Developing typical templates for complex systems and developing project-specific standards

Requirements:

  • ME or BE Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Electronics, Telecommunication, or related field
  • 5-8 years of experience in fire and security system design and engineering is mandatory
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Ability to deliver high-quality results in a timely manner
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge on NFPA 72, IBC, and relevant codes and standards
