About the Role

As a seasoned data professional, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and safety of our large language models. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing robust guardrails to prevent prompt injection attacks, evaluating model performance, and integrating LLM safety components into production APIs.

This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who is passionate about AI safety research and emerging tools like Ragas, LangChain, and Guardrails.ai. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and stay up-to-date with regulatory standards such as the EU AI Act and NIST AI RMF.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prompt Injection Protection: Develop and implement effective strategies to detect and prevent prompt injection attacks, ensuring model safety and integrity.
  • Evaluation Frameworks: Design and maintain frameworks to monitor LLM performance, fairness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Automated Pipelines: Create automated pipelines using Python and SQL to process, tag, and evaluate LLM outputs, improving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Vector Database Integration: Leverage vector databases and embeddings to identify and flag unsafe content or model drift, maintaining the highest level of model quality.
  • Internal Dashboards: Build internal dashboards and visualizations using Streamlit, Dash, or lightweight React/JS for Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) and internal tools, enhancing collaboration and decision-making.
  • LLM Safety Components: Collaborate with ML engineers and product teams to integrate LLM safety components into production APIs or applications, ensuring seamless integration and model-driven innovations.
  • AI Safety Research: Stay current with AI safety research, emerging tools, and regulatory standards, driving innovation and ensuring compliance.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience in data science, applied machine learning, or large language model-based applications.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience writing SQL for data exploration or feature engineering.
  • Solid understanding of natural language processing (NLP), deep learning architectures including CNN/RNN/Transformers, and large language models.
  • Hands-on experience with Hugging Face, LangChain, LLM APIs, and vector stores like FAISS, Pinecone, and Chroma.
  • Familiarity with front-end basics such as Streamlit, Dash, or simple HTML/CSS/JS is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience with model evaluation, red-teaming, or safety interventions in NLP/LLM systems.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with deploying ML pipelines in production using Docker and FastAPI, with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
