SAP MM Consultant Role

This role encompasses all aspects of supply chain management, including consumption-based planning, purchasing, vendor evaluation, and invoice verification.

It also covers inventory management, production planning, and warehouse management.

The Senior SAP MM Consultant is responsible for understanding business requirements, preparing AS-IS TO-BE documents, and signing off with users for Business blueprints.

The consultant performs configuration work as per the blueprint document.

Multiple teams work on different parts of the business process.

The consultant sets up the organization structure of material management and relevant configurations, such as purchase organizations, valuation areas, plants, storage locations, and warehouse structures.

They finalize material groups, purchasing groups, payment terms, Incoterms, and pricing procedures.

Finalizing various number ranges for material master, vendor master, and all purchasing and inventory documents.

Configuring release procedures for purchasing documents, like purchase requisitions and purchase orders.

The consultant prepares testing documents and conducts internal testing.

Preparing master data templates for various objects, such as material masters, vendor masters, excise masters, info-records, source lists, and purchase orders.

Integrating testing with other modules, PP, SD, and FI/CO.

The consultant prepares cut-over strategies for MM objects.

Preparing user manuals and imparting training to business process owners.

Go-live preparation and post-go-live support.

Collaborating with business users to gather and understand requirements for the SAP MM module.

Customizing SAP MM configurations to align with procurement processes and inventory management.

Providing expert guidance on material master data management and optimization.

Conducting workshops, training, and knowledge transfer sessions for end-users and project team members.

Participating in system integration testing and supporting user acceptance testing for the SAP MM module.

Identifying areas for system improvement and recommending solutions to enhance business processes.

Assisting in resolving production support issues related to the SAP MM module.

Cross-functional collaboration to integrate SAP MM with other SAP modules and legacy systems.

Preparing and maintaining comprehensive documentation related to SAP MM implementation and configurations.

Staying updated with SAP best practices and industry trends to provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Support Responsibilities:

Client interaction through net meetings, calls, and emails.

Responsible for troubleshooting system issues and providing support.

Executing changes in configurations.

Executing analysis and resolution of production support calls.

Raising Change Requests (CRs) and writing functional specifications for them.

Preparing test data for testing CRs (Change Requests).

Testing CRs (Change Requests) and preparing test results.

Carrying out regression testing.

Interaction with other module consultants.

Preparing test cases, test scenarios, and solution documents for issues.

Strong knowledge in building logics to create customized reports according to business scenarios.

Strong skills in blueprint creation that supports configuration of business scenarios.
