Key Role: Steel Detailer and Procurement Specialist

This is a vital position in our operations that requires a skilled individual to handle steel detailing and procurement needs for our projects.

Job Description:

  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings to produce accurate shop drawings and bills of materials.
  • Utilize detailing software (Tekla Structures or AutoCAD/Advance Steel) to model and detail steel components, including stairs, railings, embeds, and structural steel.
  • Generate and organize CNC files, bolt lists, BOM, and fabrication-ready documentation.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure drawings are clear, accurate, and coordinated with other trades.

Procurement Responsibilities:

  • Review drawings and shop details to identify all materials, hardware, and consumables required for fabrication and installation.
  • Create accurate takeoffs and prepare purchase lists for materials.
  • Coordinate with approved vendors to request pricing, compare quotes, and prepare purchase orders.
  • Track material deliveries, lead times, and costs to ensure alignment with project schedules.
  • Maintain procurement logs and communicate regularly with project managers, foremen, and shop leadership.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Software proficiency in Tekla Structures or AutoCAD/Advance Steel.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Revit or Tekla EPM (FabSuite) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of structural and architectural steel fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and structural drawings.
  • Experience preparing takeoffs and bills of materials from shop drawings.
  • Good communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
