Lead Patent Search and Licensing Specialist

As a highly skilled professional, you will lead and scale the Search & Licensing vertical, providing strategic direction, technical oversight, and business leadership.

• You will own and execute the strategic roadmap for the Search & Licensing business unit, aligning its offerings with market needs and evolving IP trends.
• You will ensure revenue targets are met or exceeded, developing pricing strategies, resource allocation, and service optimization plans to maximize profitability.
• You will supervise end-to-end execution of all IP Search and Analytics services, including patentability/novelty searches, freedom to operate searches, invalidity/validity searches, patent landscaping/technology scouting, and rigorous quality control protocols.

Additionally, you will lead the design and execution of IP Monetization strategies, support clients in identifying licensing opportunities, negotiate deals, and execute transactions. You will also build a strong partner/licensee ecosystem across industries and serve as a strategic advisor to clients, offering insight-driven IP solutions.

• Vertical Leadership & Strategy:
  • Owning and executing the strategic roadmap for the Search & Licensing business unit
  • Aligning the vertical's offerings with market needs and evolving IP trends
  • Setting annual goals, budget forecasts, and investment plans for the BU
• Revenue Generation & P&L Ownership:
  • Owning P&L of the vertical; ensuring revenue targets are met or exceeded
  • Developing pricing strategies, resource allocation, and service optimization plans to maximize profitability
  • Tracking project pipelines, billing, and receivables in coordination with the Finance Team
• Service Delivery & Quality Assurance:
  • Supervising end-to-end execution of all IP Search and Analytics services
  • Implementing rigorous quality control protocols and ensuring delivery timelines are met
• IP Monetization & Licensing:
  • Leading the design and execution of IP Monetization strategies
  • SUPPORTING clients in identifying licensing opportunities, negotiating deals, and executing transactions
  • Building a strong partner/licensee ecosystem across industries
• Client Engagement & Satisfaction:
  • Serving as a strategic advisor to clients, offering insight-driven IP solutions
  • Ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and retention through proactive communication and consistent service quality
• Team Leadership & Performance Management:
  • Leading a team of analysts, senior searchers, and licensing professionals
  • Driving a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and accountability
  • Monitoring performance and conducting regular feedback and appraisal sessions
• Staffing Strategy & Hiring:
  • Planning and forecasting manpower needs in alignment with project pipelines and growth targets
  • Working with HR to attract, interview, and onboard high-calibre talent
  • Developing internal capability by identifying skill gaps and creating upskilling plans
• Capability Building & Leadership Development:
  • Mentoring and grooming high-potential team members into future leadership roles
  • Conducting regular training sessions on search techniques, licensing frameworks, and communication
• Process Excellence & Technology Adoption:
  • Creating and maintaining SOPs, templates, and checklists to standardize quality and efficiency
  • Evaluating and adopting cutting-edge patent databases and AI/analytics tools for better output
• Business Development & Thought Leadership:
  • Supporting business development efforts in pitching Search & Licensing services to new and existing clients
  • Representing the firm at industry forums, IP events, and in publications to build thought leadership
