Job Description

Bridging the Gap Between AI R&D and IP Law

As a Patent Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our AI Research and Development teams and Intellectual Property (IP) legal counsel.

This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify patentable innovations, performing prior art searches and patent landscape analysis to assess novelty and patentability, and drafting patent applications with technical accuracy and clarity.

You will also liaise with external patent attorneys and IP counsel to prosecute patent applications globally, track and manage patent filings and deadlines, analyze competitor patents, and provide strategic input on IP positioning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaboration and Innovation: Collaborate with engineering and research teams to identify patentable innovations that drive business growth and protect our intellectual property.
  • Prior Art Searches: Perform thorough prior art searches and patent landscape analysis to assess novelty and patentability of our inventions.
  • Patent Drafting: Draft high-quality patent applications with technical accuracy and clarity, ensuring that our innovations are properly protected.
  • Prosecution and Management: Liaise with external patent attorneys and IP counsel to prosecute patent applications globally, track and manage patent filings and deadlines, and analyze competitor patents.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need strong technical writing and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You should have a solid understanding of patent law and procedures, as well as experience working with cross-functional teams.

Additionally, you will need to be able to analyze complex data, identify patterns and trends, and provide strategic input on IP positioning. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are also essential for this role.
