Software Architect for Automotive Systems

The role of the Senior Software Architect is to develop the software architecture of automotive systems, focusing on performance, power efficiency, and safety-critical requirements.

  • Define and architect the software framework for automotive SoC systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align software architecture with hardware design and industry standards.
  • Lead the design and development of software components and modules for automotive SoC platforms, implementing solutions in compliance with industry standards such as ISO 26262.
  • Optimize software performance for real-time constraints and resource efficiency, conducting performance analysis and proposing enhancements to meet automotive industry standards.
  • Support Intellectual Property activities, generating Invention Disclosure Memos to facilitate patent applications.
  • Contribute to design reviews across algorithm teams, considering next-generation algorithms and new business opportunities.
  • Develop algorithms with a view to implementing on embedded DSP platforms, representing Valeo at various Industry Working Groups and conferences.
  • Support the design and implementation of in-company training sessions, developing and maintaining relationships with university counterparts.
  • Strive to improve competencies in automotive vision-based ADAS, computer vision, and C++.
Responsibilities
  • Research and develop state-of-the-art computer vision and image processing algorithms for autonomous driving applications.
  • Ensure software architecture meets safety and security standards relevant to automotive systems, collaborating with safety engineers to conduct risk assessments.
  • Manage the link with other engineering disciplines, capitalizing know-how through standardization, specifications, technical reports, processes, and guidelines.
  • Provide inputs and requirements to the engineering discipline for development, interface with customers for engineering discipline architecture content, and contribute to refine functions into sub-systems.
