Job Summary:

Pentair is seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer to join our Global Engineering Center in Noida, India. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and testing hardware for various Pentair products used in industrial and commercial markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define industrial and commercial connectivity technologies roadmaps for system design
  • Develop modular approaches for system assemblies, including power, display, controller, VFD, sensors, and connectivity technologies
  • Work as a coordinator for complete system integration and qualification as per target market applications
  • Act as a technical coach for hardware and software integration
  • Perform proof of concept for latest technologies and demonstrate capabilities to align with Pentair business
  • Define EMI/EMC requirements and test plans as per applicable certifications for products
  • Provide guidance to team members for hardware development and testing

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or equivalent engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware design and testing, including 2+ years of experience in system design and EMI/EMC standards (IEC/CISPR)
  • 2+ years of experience in smart and IoT products is an advantage
  • Experience in designing and system integration of controllers with off-the-shelf electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Hands-on experience with sensors, including pressure, flow, temperature, vibration, and water quality
  • Experience with EMI/EMC testing and working with certified labs for product certification
  • Experience in creating system diagrams and cable drawings for systems
  • Extensive knowledge of working principles and circuit design of electronics components
  • Hands-on experience with industrial protocols, including Modbus, CAN, HART, and Link IO
  • Rich experience in schematic and hardware design around major suppliers for microcontrollers
  • Experience in digital and analog circuit design
  • Experience in communication protocols, including I2C, SPI, UART, RS232/RS485, CAN, Ethernet, and USB
  • Good hands-on experience in circuit simulation using P-Spice, Proteus, TINA Spice, and NI-Lab View
  • Good hands-on experience in schematic and layout design using Altium Designer, ORCAD, Allegro, and PADS
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and LabVIEW is an advantage
  • Experience in testing and troubleshooting tools, including DMM, power supply, DSO, function generator, and data logger
  • Experience in designing and building robust and reliable systems through the hardware development life cycle (HDLC) with all documentation
  • Experience in system risk assessment (FMEA) and component stress analysis
  • Good hands-on experience with control tools, including Git and SVN, along with documentation tools (Confluence and Wiki)
  • Experience in mapping business requirements into specifications, designing, cost estimations, preparing test plans, and qualification approaches
  • Experience with SCRUM/Agile process, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), project planning, tracking, and monitoring, and risk management
