Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 2 years of experience in state and local income and/or sales tax compliance
  • A degree in Accounting or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred
  • CPA or EA certification is an added advantage

You should have a thorough understanding of state nexus concepts and standards, as well as experience in sourcing and determining the taxability of sales transactions, preparing and filing sales and use tax returns electronically.

A basic understanding of Avalara or Vertex sales tax software products is also required.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare, review, and file sales and use tax returns for multiple states
  • Process sales tax payments when returns are filed
  • Research and stay abreast of state and local sales and use tax related matters
  • Consult with experienced SALT Team members and colleagues to resolve sales tax issues for clients
  • Develop, train, and mentor junior SALT sales tax associates
  • Contribute to building a positive and efficient SALT sales tax team in Bengaluru
