Optics Engineer Opportunity

We're seeking a skilled Optics Engineer to shape the electron-optical column, source, lenses, detector coupling, and imaging quality for high-resolution performance.

Mission:

  • End-to-end responsibility for the electron-optical column. Deliver stable, high-resolution imaging with clean contrast across use-cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and align the column for low-drift performance. Establish practical workflows for production and service.
  • Translate optics theory into calibration routines and alignment jigs that are repeatable outside the lab.
  • Collaborate with Electronics and Software teams to ensure deterministic beam control and intuitive imaging controls.
  • Develop and maintain a calibration playbook - resolution, magnification, distortion - and train others to run it.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in electron optics, with hands-on expertise in alignment, vacuum hardware, and lab metrology.
  • Ability to move seamlessly between modeling, bench work, and factory documentation.
  • Clear communication skills to explain complex optics in simple, teachable procedures.

Success Metrics:

  • Consistent high-resolution images with minimal retuning.
  • Repeatable calibration across builds and over time.
  • Fast diagnosis and recovery when alignment drifts.
