AWS Cloud Systems Specialist

The role requires a highly skilled engineer to take ownership of mission-critical financial systems within an investment banking environment.

This is not a traditional support function; instead, it demands a hands-on engineer who can ensure system resilience, reliability, and operational excellence across on-premises and cloud-hosted environments.

  • System Ownership & Reliability: Ensure high availability and troubleshoot complex issues across infrastructure, applications, and integrations.
  • Operational Excellence: Design and manage Disaster Recovery strategies, conduct periodic DR drills, and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurrences.
  • SRE & Automation: Apply Site Reliability Engineering principles to improve system performance and resilience, automate operational tasks, and develop tooling and scripts for efficiency and reliability.
  • Cloud & Hybrid Environments: Engineer and operate systems deployed on on-prem and AWS platforms, leveraging key AWS services such as EC2, ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, Lambda, and VPC networking.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 5–10 years of experience in platform engineering within financial services or capital markets.
  • Strong SRE experience focused on automation, observability, and resilience.
  • Expertise in Linux/Windows environments and hands-on experience with key AWS services.
  • Strong automation and scripting skills, proficiency in monitoring/observability tools, and proven experience in patching, DR, backup, monitoring, and system hardening.
  • Calm, decisive, and resilient in high-pressure financial environments, with excellent communication skills across business and technical teams.
