Pharmacist Role

The role of a Pharmacist is pivotal in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care. The successful candidate will be instrumental in working closely with various healthcare professionals to ensure optimal drug treatments.

  • Inter-professional Collaboration: Effective liaison with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals is essential for patient safety.
  • Dispensary Operations: Active participation in dispensary work includes performing clinical checks and ensuring accuracy of prescriptions and dispensed medicines.
  • Compliance & Safety: All tasks and processes must comply with Medicines Ethics and Practice, local policies, risk management protocols, and health and safety guidelines.
  • Medication Dispensing & Supply: Accurate dispensing and supply of medicines to patients as per prescriptions are crucial.
  • Controlled Substances Management: Responsible handling of controlled drugs requires strict adherence to hospital policy and meticulous record-keeping.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) degree from a recognized institution is required.
  • Valid Pharmacist registration/license from the relevant state pharmacy council is also necessary.

  • Pharmaceutical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of pharmacology, drug interactions, dosages, and safe medication practices.
