Business Analyst Job Description

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to provide strategic support services within the Energy sector.

The Energy Team plays a crucial role in positioning our company to win profitable business and drive growth in the Energy sector. This team is responsible for managing work-winning activities from the initial capture phase through to the final conversion phase of our Winning Work lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support preparation of Opportunity briefings and gathering Leads for a 'Go / No Go' decision process
  • Support data entry and analysis in the Sales (proposals stage) module of our Oracle based Horizon ERP system
  • Support Proposal Managers in the delivery of all or parts of Supplier Compliance Questionnaires, Expressions of Interest, Pre-Qualifications and Proposals including proposal kick off, winning and review meetings
  • Prepare and submit requests via our online intranet portal to our legal team for legal reviews, contract signature and legal advice
  • Work with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft SharePoint to create and maintain Teams sites for collaboration on live proposals
  • Undertake research on clients, proposals, competitors and industry sectors
  • Work with our values to ensure that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of proposals is maintained.
Knowledge Management Support

Assist in preparing project case studies, project description sheets, method statements, evidence statements and maintaining the Energy Bid Knowledge Library

  • Assist in preparing client references and testimonials
  • Assist in assessing and breaking down client bid requirements
  • Assist the recording of Win Themes
  • Assist the recording Bid Feedback from clients
  • Support the Energy team's CV inputs for the WSP CV Database
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum Degree Qualified from an internationally recognised University in an appropriate subject
  • Relevant experience, min. 5+ years, in Business Analysis role;
  • Commitment to achieving APMP Foundation as a minimum.
  • Good level of spoken and written English, evidenced by an internationally recognised English language qualification;
  • Being confident in obtaining information from people and being sufficiently proactive;
  • Possess an ability to analyse information from different sources and assemble into a meaningful document in the form of a report, programme, spreadsheet, etc.
  • Capable of managing, recording and prioritising their own business activities, recognising and reconciling conflicts to their achievement;
  • Be responsive to change and accurately record and communicate variations and their consequences;
  • Comfortable with receiving instructions leading to defined tasks and accepting personal responsibility for their actions;
  • Understands the criticality of providing support to an overseas manager to fulfil a defined contractual obligation;
  • An IT focus with an accurate and proficient working knowledge in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practice in Business Analysis;
  • Capable of managing and prioritising own work;
  • Highly organised and adept at interfacing with systems and manipulating data;
  • Ability to work in a team environment;
  • Routinely able to work to tight deadlines for UK and international proposals;
  • Comfortable working independently and is highly self-motivated;
  • Able to communicate across time zones effectively and efficiently;
