Job Title: Technical Buyer

This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your purchasing expertise and negotiation skills in a key role within our team.

  • Liaise with Vessel Superintendents: Work closely with superintendents to ensure prompt supply of technical spare parts and services, meeting vessel requirements.
  • Purchasing Activities: Manage purchasing processes, arrange logistics, and connect spares to vessels efficiently.
  • Quotation Management: Send enquiries to suppliers worldwide for quotations on various services, including navigation equipment, FFA & LSA, underwater inspections, hull cleaning, and bulk purchases.
  • Vendor Communication: Liaise with vessels to gather information required for requisitions and follow up with supplier quotations.
  • Purchase Order Preparation: Prepare purchase orders, delivery orders, proforma invoices, and packing lists accurately.
  • Logistics Arrangement: Assist in arranging air freight, sea freight, land transport, and sea transport as needed.
  • Agent and Ship Coordination: Liaise with agents and ships for convenient spare part and repair service supply at designated ports.
  • Invoice Processing: Process invoices, verify vendor invoices against quotations, and ensure timely payment within credit term periods.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation, print invoices, and handle other duties assigned by the Manager or Superintendents.
  • Team Handling: Collaborate effectively with the team to achieve common goals.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in spares stores services and technical purchasing.
  • An excellent track record in communication and negotiation skills.
