Engineering Manager - Data Position

  • This is an exciting opportunity to lead cross-functional teams in delivering complex data engineering initiatives using agile methods and frameworks.
About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Manager to join our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members, serving as a subject matter expert in data engineering and related technologies.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading development teams using Agile, Lean, and/or iterative releasing methods. They should also be well-versed in SQL, Python, ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, data consumption, data analysis, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. End-to-end technical delivery of complex initiatives under product management pipeline.
  2. Technical leadership and guidance to the team.
  3. Contribute to design and architecture of data solutions.
  4. Establish effective ways of working within and across teams.
  5. Embrace continuous learning and leverage latest development trends.
Requirements
  • 8-13 years of experience in software development, with a focus on data engineering.
  • Proven people leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Well-versed in SQL, Python, ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, data consumption, data analysis, and documentation.
  • Experience leading development teams using Agile, Lean, and/or iterative releasing.
  • Familiarity with delivery approaches such as TDD, CI, and infrastructure automation.
Bonus Points
  • Experience with Big Query, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Python libraries (Pandas, Requests, JSON), Docker, Kafka, Linux shell scripting, Git/GitHub, AWS (S3, Lambda, IaC), Airflow, and interacting with REST APIs.
