Job Description

The Technical Procurement Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless supply of technical spare parts and ship repair services. This position requires effective communication and negotiation skills to liaise with Superintendents, agents, and ships for the prompt delivery of required components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with Superintendents to facilitate the timely supply of technical spare parts and ship repair jobs or annual services.
  • Handling purchasing activities, including arranging logistics to connect spares to vessels.
  • Issuing enquiries and requisitions to suppliers worldwide for quotations of annual, bi-annual, 5-yearly, or 10-yearly services of navigation equipment, FFA & LSA, underwater inspections, hull cleaning, supply of technical spare parts, and anodes bulk purchase.
  • Liaising with vessels on information required pertaining to requisitions.
  • Following up with quotations from suppliers.
  • Preparing purchase orders and delivery orders/proforma invoices/packing lists.
  • Assisting in logistics arrangement (air freight/sea freight/land transport/sea transport).
  • Liaising with agents and ships for the supply of spare parts and repair services to vessels at convenient ports.
  • Processing invoices - verifying vendor invoices against quotations and ensuring invoices are processed within the credit term period.
  • Document filing/printing of Invoices.

Requirements

This role requires the following minimum qualifications and skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in spares stores services and all technical purchasing.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
