Job Description:

The Senior Tax Analyst will support business teams on Indian Direct/Indirect tax matters, evaluating issues related to e-retail businesses in India. This role requires a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity, detail-oriented and able to work well with cross-functional teams.

This individual will review and manage monthly Indirect Tax compliance, including validation of Tax rates and handling vendor queries. They will also coordinate with Finance and external consultants to ensure compliance reporting before due dates.

Additional responsibilities include reviewing TDS deductions, payments and managing quarterly TDS and TCS compliances. The successful candidate will provide end-to-end tax requirements for business projects and engage with various teams on tax projects.

They will work closely with internal tax teams and external advisors for tax impacts, compliance and documentation. This role involves handling income tax assessment proceedings and preparing responses to notices issued by the tax department.

Key tasks also include managing Tax General Ledgers and preparing reconciliations between books and tax returns. The person in this position will assist with managing relationships with external tax consultants and regulatory authorities.

Furthermore, they will manage and coordinate tax audits and extend support to preparation of financial statements with regard to taxes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Chartered Accountant/MBA with 4+ years of experience in Indirect and Direct taxation.
  • Thorough technical knowledge of Indirect tax, Direct Tax and Corporate Tax.
  • General business awareness.
  • Excellent Excel, presentation and report writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent Excel and general computer skills.
  • Excellent drafting skills to communicate complex tax ideas and analysis in plain English.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
