Procurement Specialist Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled procurement professional to be the backbone of our solar project supply chain.

The ideal candidate will ensure timely delivery and budget management for all project materials, partnering with vendors to deliver flawless logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure civil items locally within approved budget limits.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure timely material availability in accordance with the construction schedule.
  • Align with SCM team on procurement status, vendor approvals, and project SCM deliverables.
  • Maintain local database for civil items and consumables.
  • Ensure procurement follows company policies, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Monitor and report material inflow/outflow, consumption, and stock levels.
  • Support material reconciliation for civil items during and after project execution.
  • Coordinate logistics for safe and timely transportation of materials to the site.
  • Prepare documentation (POs, GRNs, invoices, vendor records).
  • Assist in resolving material shortages, delays, or quality issues at the site in coordination with HO SCM.
  • Independently manage multiple vendors/contractors to negotiate prices & close work orders.
  • Issue formal PO/termination and source local specialized manpower for electrical, structure, and substation tasks.

Qualification & Experience/Skills Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of civil construction materials and consumables.
  • Understanding of local procurement practices and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with procurement documentation.
  • Good coordination and negotiation skills for vendor interaction.
  • Ability to work closely with the site team and HO SCM under tight timelines.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP/SCM tools.
  • B.E./Diploma in Civil Engineering OR Graduate with relevant SCM experience.
  • 5–8 years of experience in procurement/supply chain of construction/renewable projects.
  • Prior site-based SCM/procurment exposure preferred.
