We are seeking a researcher with expertise in physics to test the reasoning capabilities of large language models.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in research and analytical skills, as well as the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.

A typical day for this role would involve creating physics problems, reviewing how the AI solves them, and sharing insights on how well it understands complex reasoning and logical steps.

The tasks involved in this role may include:

Calculating the probability of a high-energy pion decaying within a certain distance from its origin.

Defining the last return time to zero and the time spent on the positive axis as fractions of total time for a 1D Brownian motion starting at the origin.

Find the exact joint probability distribution of these scaled times, expressed using the Heaviside function to specify its support.

To be eligible for this position, you must have completed or be currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.

You should also possess strong written communication skills, especially in remote settings, and be comfortable working independently.

Additionally, you will need stable computer and internet access, and commit to a minimum of 4 hours per day and 20 hours per week with some overlap with PST.
