Job Title: Lead Database Migration Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Lead Database Migration Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end migration lifecycle across assessment, planning, execution, validation, and post-migration optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive migration strategy, methodologies, and best practices for zero/near-zero downtime and high availability/disaster recovery.
  • Plan, design, and execute Oracle database migrations across various platforms, including Data Center-to-Data Center, AWS-to-AWS cloud setups, Azure-to-Azure cloud setups, Oracle Exadata, and Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer environments.
  • Implement database backup and recovery using Rubrik and RMAN, and perform data purging and archival strategies to optimize database size and performance.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects, infrastructure teams, and application owners to ensure smooth migration with minimal business disruption.
  • Document migration runbooks, rollback procedures, and knowledge transfer.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of Oracle Database experience, with 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles overseeing database migration programs.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle migrations in multi-cloud, Exadata, and ExaCC environments.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning, Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) implementation and management, and Oracle Data Guard setup, switchover, failover, and role transitions.
