Job Title: MEP Project Manager

MEP Project Manager Job Description:
  • Develop and execute project execution strategies in collaboration with the construction team to ensure timely completion.
  • Oversee MEP contractors/subcontractors on site, allocating tasks with clear job responsibilities to engineers and supervisors.
  • Provide critical feedback to the construction manager regarding contractor performance and suggest corrective actions.
  • Conduct cost and productivity analyses to optimize site operations.
  • Coordinate with the planning department for project plan updates and delay mitigation strategies.
  • Document project progress and delays through letters that can be used as contractual aids during disputes.
  • Review resource reports (manpower histograms, plant, and machinery schedules) to ensure adequate resources are deployed for timely project completion.
  • Approve monthly bills from contractors and review variation requests.
  • Coordinate with the procurement department for necessary actions.
  • Collaborate with the liaison department for utility connections and approvals.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from contractor maintenance to in-house maintenance with the facilities management department.
  • Verify documents generated by the contractor, including shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
Safety and Quality:
  • Maintain strict safety protocols on site, ensuring all P&E equipment is properly maintained.
  • Implement quality control measures in all work activities, preparing method statements and checklists.
  • Raise non-conformance reports in case of deviations from specifications or industry best practices.
  • Inspect workmanship by contractors/subcontractors and coordinate with the design management department on project issues.
  • Awareness of international and local building codes is essential.
  • Familiarity with HVAC Systems/Plumbing/Electrical Works & ELV Works installation, testing, and commissioning is required.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems installation and testing/commissioning.
  • Prior experience in design or maintenance is an advantage.
  • Awareness/exposure to various construction/system methodologies.
Experience and Education:
  • 9+ years of experience in real estate or construction companies.
  • Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
