Big Data Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Big Data Engineer to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in big data pipelines, distributed data systems, and cloud-based solutions.

The Big Data Engineer will design, develop, and optimize large-scale data pipelines and distributed data processing systems using Scala, Spark, Python, and Apache Kafka.

  • Design and develop scalable data architectures for cloud-based solutions.
  • Work extensively with distributed data systems, including Spark, Hadoop, and NoSQL databases.
  • Develop and integrate streaming solutions using Apache Kafka and orchestration tools like NiFi / Airflow.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of high-quality code through code reviews, performance tuning, and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Scala – Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience.
  • Strong expertise in Spark and Python programming.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including messaging technologies and streaming solutions.
  • Knowledge of NiFi / Airflow for orchestration.
  • Strong experience in Distributed Data Systems (5+ years).
  • Proficiency in SQL and query optimization.
