We are seeking an experienced Search/Information Retrieval Specialist to design, develop and optimize search solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences. The ideal candidate will combine strong software development skills with deep knowledge of information retrieval systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing advanced search functionality using modern search technologies
  • Developing high-quality, scalable search applications with a focus on relevancy, performance and user experience
  • Creating and optimizing search algorithms, ranking models and retrieval methods
  • Building Knowledge Graphs from various corporate data sources
  • Implementing and fine-tuning query understanding, text analysis and relevance scoring
  • Analyzing and maintaining existing search infrastructure and applications
  • Designing and executing A/B tests to measure search quality improvements
  • Developing efficient indexing strategies and data preparation pipelines
  • Implementing machine learning models for search ranking
  • Discovering and fixing programming bugs
  • Monitoring and optimizing search performance metrics

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in software development
  • 3+ years of experience developing search solutions
  • Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python or similar
  • Hands-on experience with search engines such as Elasticsearch or Solr
  • Strong understanding of information retrieval concepts such as TF-IDF, BM25 and vector search
  • Expertise in SQL databases and experience with NoSQL solutions
  • Experience with text processing, NLP and relevance tuning
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following qualifications will be given preference:

  • Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Knowledge of modern neural search techniques and vector embeddings
  • Experience with Knowledge Graphs/Graph RAG and related infrastructure such as Neo4J
  • Familiarity with relevance evaluation metrics such as NDCG, MRR and MAP
  • Experience with large-scale distributed systems
Technical Skills

The ideal candidate should have proficiency in:

  • Search Engines: Elasticsearch, Solr or similar
  • Programming Languages: Java, Python, Scala
  • Databases: SQL, MongoDB or similar
Soft Skills

In addition to technical skills, the ideal candidate should possess:
