We are seeking a skilled engineer to lead the development and virtualization of sensor and actuator models for simulation environments. This role involves collaboration across hardware, controls, diagnostics, and supplier teams to ensure robust modeling of devices in modern automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Model Development: Develop high-fidelity plant models using Simulink or equivalent tools.
  • Model Integration: Architect models for seamless integration into VHiL, HiL, SiL, and CoSim environments.
  • Interface Standardization: Define interface standards for model consumption across simulation platforms.
  • Data Collection and Validation: Lead data collection efforts from physical devices for model validation and performance characterization.
  • Model Refining: Analyze diagnostic responses and performance metrics to refine model behavior.
  • Test Case Definition and Execution: Define and execute test cases based on customer feedback and evolving model requirements.
  • Model Robustness: Ensure model robustness by incorporating vehicle calibration variations and real-world operating conditions.
  • Model Lifecycle Management: Manage model lifecycle including enhancements, release documentation, test coverage, and technical support.
  • Version Control and Traceability: Maintain traceability and version control across model updates.
Requirements Definition:
  • Virtualization Requirements: Define virtualization requirements for modeling, hardware, controls, and supplier ecosystems.
  • Calibration Differences and Model Design Strategies: Translate calibration differences into robust model design strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in model-based development, preferably in the automotive domain.
  • Proficiency in Simulink, MATLAB, and other modeling tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and diagnostics.
  • Experience with HiL/SiL/CoSim environments and simulation workflows.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems and sensor/actuator hardware.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with vehicle calibration and its impact on model fidelity.
  • Exposure to AUTOSAR, CAN, LIN, or other automotive communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of change management tools (e.g., JIRA, Git, SVN).
  • Ability to work across global teams and manage supplier interactions.
