High-Performance Application Developer

This role is ideal for a technical expert passionate about building and maintaining high-performance applications using RPG on IBM i (AS/400, iSeries) systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain RPG-based applications on IBM i platforms.
  • Lead enhancements and bug-fixes in Order Management Systems (OMS), with deep understanding of customer account management, order entry, order fulfillment, billing, and returns modules.
  • Translate business requirements into high-quality, scalable, secure, and maintainable code.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end OMS solutions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and performance tuning of the applications.
  • Modernize legacy RPG code where necessary.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in RPG development, including RPG IV, RPG ILE, and Free Format RPG.
  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM i (AS/400, iSeries) platforms.
  • Deep understanding of Order Management business processes.
  • Proficiency in CL, DDS, DB2/400, and service programs/modules.
  • Solid experience with EDI, APIs, and integrations between RPG-based and external systems.
  • Proven track record in performance tuning and troubleshooting RPG applications.
  • Ability to work independently and drive development in a fast-paced environment.
