Job Description

This role involves collaborating with the organization to achieve its objectives through strategic tax planning, risk management, and value creation.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving business success by preserving profitability, enhancing value, and minimizing tax risks.

  • Advising businesses on cost-effective strategies in domestic and cross-border markets.
  • Ensuring effective tax governance, compliance, and regulatory adherence.
  • Managing relationships with tax consultants and internal functions to minimize litigation risks.
  • Coordinating with internal and external auditors to ensure seamless audit completion.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage tax assets to avoid working capital lock-in and prevent tax leakage.
  • Oversee timely execution of tax and regulatory compliance with accuracy and quality.
  • Ensure adequacy of tax provisions, ownership of tax accounts, and adherence to established tax positions.
  • Conduct thorough research on tax matters to represent the organization's tax position effectively.
  • Closure of audit points with complete and accurate submissions of schedules and documents within timelines.
  • Response to engagement consultations and safeguarding against tax and regulatory risks from a business perspective.
  • Maintenance of robust application controls in financials and tertiary applications, with regular reviews and corrective actions as needed.
  • Documentation and reporting related to compliance and assessments, with timely updates in relevant systems.
  • Contributing to firm-wide strategic projects, ensuring finance aspects are duly considered.
  • Mitigating tax and regulatory risks through informed decision-making and policy updates.
  • Accurate and timely tax and regulatory reporting, highlighting exceptions and staying updated on changes in tax laws.
  • Maintenance of strong internal controls and regular reviews to prevent errors and fraud, ensuring integrity of tax and regulatory reporting.
  • Meeting agreed process KPIs, strengthening review mechanisms, and adhering to interdepartmental deliverables through Interlock documents.
  • Reviewing RCSA periodically under Risk Mitigation strategy and enhancing the framework accordingly.Tax Efficiency Evolution Initiative
    • Lead implementation of technological advancements in the function, focusing on best-in-class automation practices to drive efficiency in finance processes impacting tax and regulatory compliances.
    Demonstrating People Leadership
    • Team Management: Supervising and managing a team, including their performance, productivity, and adherence to SOP.
    • Performance Monitoring: Evaluating individual and team performance metrics, ensuring fair and equitable measurement.
    • Coaching and Training: Providing continuous coaching, monitoring, and training to enhance team members' skill sets, knowledge, and regulatory compliance.
    • Quality Assurance: Maintaining quality standards and conducting frequent quality checks to identify areas for improvement and take corrective action based on feedback.
    • Recognizing individual efforts to motivate and enhance team performance.
    Qualifications
    • CA (Certified Accountant) designation.
