Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and innovative engineer to join our team as a System Design Engineer. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and developing control sub-systems that meet functional requirements and design constraints.

The key accountabilities of this role include:

  • Analyzing product requirements and translating them into validated functional requirements for the control sub-systems.
  • Capturing applicable design constraints and quality attributes that apply to the system.
  • Designing control sub-systems that meet functional requirements and design constraints.
  • Conducting analysis through modeling and simulation to demonstrate that the design meets the functional requirements.
  • Liaising with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of hardware components.
  • Presenting in design review gates and obtaining agreement from senior stakeholders.
  • Ensuring robust designs through effective application of engineering tools and processes.

Key qualifications and experience required include:

  • Working knowledge of engine and airframe interfaces, engine component technology, and behavior during normal and abnormal operation.
  • Understanding of associated engineering disciplines and ability to interpret test results.
  • Ability to manage tasks to completion and ensure relevant areas of the engineering team are consulted.
  • Good presentation and communication skills.
  • Appreciation of aerospace industry standards and working practices.

  • Requirements management: DOORs, PTC Integrity.
  • System Modelling: Matlab/Simulink, SysML.
