Senior Project Cost Controller

Job Title: Project Cost Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Cost Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.

Main Responsibilities:

• Budget Planning: Prepare project budgets, annual/quarterly/monthly planning, and rolling forecasts in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Financial Reporting: Take accountability for project invoicing, tax issues, bonds, guarantees, financial accounting and reporting.
• Cash Flow Management: Drive and seek optimization of project cash flow, revenues, and GM contribution together with Central Cost Controller/Project Manager as needed.
• Risk Management: Participate in opportunity/risk identification and ensure timely implementation of mitigation actions.
• Monthly Reviews: Drive, coordinate, and prepare monthly project reviews jointly with the PM/Central Controller/PSCM.
• Financial Analysis: Review and have joint responsibility for all financial aspects of the project, including estimate at completion and related cost-to-complete, forecasted revenues and cash flow, risks and opportunities assessment, and ensure alignment with other functions including Project Controls, planning/scheduling.
• Commercial Awareness: Promote commercial awareness in the project team and provide commercial input to the project execution plan.
• Communication: Live core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
• Client Communication: Coordinate with the Client for approval on invoices, getting payments, and various forms for compliance purposes.
• Billing Register: Maintain an updated billing register capturing details of all billings till date, status on approval, payment, various deductions with categories and reasons, follow-up to collect amounts deducted.
• Expense Control: Stringent monitoring and control on site expenses. Weekly reporting of project expenses in a specified format and reconciliation of SAP entries with invoices.
• Issue Identification: Analysis on actual vs. budget costs and revenue on the project, highlighting potential issues to the controller manager and project managers.
• Actua Presentation: Lead the activity of project actualisation (actua) at HO defined frequency, co-ordinate with project team to get required data, discuss with controller manager to prepare finance-related slides in actua presentation, upload the actua in SAP post approval from required people.
• Kappa Review: Review of Kappa against the budgeted costs and highlight in case of costs exceeding the budget, check that adequate documents (quotations, budget sheet, comparative information, billing value, required authorisations, reasoning for deviations from minimum quotations, budget overruns, non-lowest offer, non-compliance with payment terms) are attached with the Kappa.
• Project Slides: Sharing of project slides for monthly business review in accordance with timeline defined by the project team keeping controller manager in loop.
• Provisions Check: Comprehensive check on provisions to ensure that provisions are accurate, complete for monthly closing and in line with accounting rules and HO instructions.
• Cash Verification: Monthly cash verification and surprise verification at least once a month. Reporting of results to HO team (controller manager and IFC team).
• Internal Financial Controls: Lead and supervise the compliance on Internal Financial Controls (IFC) as defined by HO in the Risk and Control Matrix (RCM).
• Guarantees Renewal: Monitoring of ABG, PBG, any other guarantees, insurances to ensure that these are timely renewed, reduced as per contractual conditions.
• Tax Compliance: Compliance with tax regulations.
• Team Support: Provide all required support to execution team and being an integral part of the project team. Become a core finance support to the team for all finance-related matters on site. Anticipate issues, discuss with controller manager, and take proactive actions to resolve issues.
• Man Day Filling: Timely filling of man days for self against respective project.
• Staff Timesheets: Check that timesheets of staff working on his project are filled timely and properly.
• Site Accountant Supervision: Supervise the day-to-day work of site accountant, provide guidance and support for efficient conduct of site tasks.
• Central Controlling Support: Support to central controlling team on various analysis, adhoc requests.
