About the Role

The Senior Director, Product Design will lead the design team and be responsible for the design strategy. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of the company by designing solutions that will empower internal teams and external users. The candidate will build and lead a team of product designers, setting a vision for user experience across products. They will report directly into the Chief Product and Design Officer and be a key voice in the product leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Define the holistic design vision for our products, ensuring a consistent, high-quality user experience across internal and external applications.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Engage in client and presales discussions to shape design strategy, translating needs into actionable insights.
  • Establish and streamline design operations to improve support for scale, consistency, collaboration, efficiency, and quality across teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Collaborate with cross-functional leaders in product management, engineering, and data science to align on product strategy, goals, and roadmaps.
  • Advocate for the user through research, testing, and feedback, ensuring design decisions are informed by a deep understanding of user needs and behaviors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent.

Required Skills

  • 12+ years of experience in product design within a technology or product-centric company.
  • Proven experience leading a team of designers who design and ship AI-powered products or features.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.
  • Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with a track record of using data to inform design decisions.
