Lead Web Developer - WordPress

About the Position:

We are seeking a seasoned web developer with enterprise-level expertise in WordPress to lead development and management of our website.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UI/UX best practices, expertise in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript (including React), HTML5, and CSS3, as well as experience with Git, GitHub, and CI/CD tools.

The role involves developing, customizing, and maintaining high-performance WordPress themes and plugins, working within the WordPress VIP platform, and collaborating cross-functionally with design, content, DevOps, and marketing teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing the site for SEO, mobile responsiveness, accessibility, and Core Web Vitals, conducting code reviews, managing Git-based workflows, and integrating with CI/CD pipelines.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4+ years of professional experience in WordPress development, a Master's/Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, customize, and maintain high-performance WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Work within the WordPress VIP platform, ensuring code quality, security, and scalability aligned with VIP's rigorous development standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, content, DevOps, and marketing teams to execute on web and CMS needs.
  • Implement advanced publishing workflows, multilingual support, and custom Gutenberg blocks to support global marketing efforts.
Requirements:
  • At least 4+ years of professional experience in WordPress development.
  • Strong understanding of UI/UX best practices for marketing and content-heavy websites.
  • Expertise in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript (including React), HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, and CI/CD tools.
  • Familiarity with WordPress REST API, GraphQL, and headless WordPress architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience building performant, responsive, and secure WordPress websites for high-traffic environments.
