Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer

Description:

The role of a Senior Backend Engineer involves designing and implementing low-latency microservices, building distributed event-driven systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop robust software solutions.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and build scalable microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate frameworks.
  • Implement custom algorithms and data models to support pricing, availability, and inventory workflows.
  • Own end-to-end modules from design to rollout and collaborate with product/architect teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Use AI developer tools and Large Language Models (LLMs) to accelerate development processes.
  • Participate in rigorous code reviews and contribute to a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline that supports frequent, reliable, and automated deployments.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong experience with MySQL, MongoDB, or ScyllaDB databases.
  • Built distributed, event-driven systems using SQS, Kinesis; solid understanding of fault tolerance, backpressure, and scalability principles.
  • Familiarity with data consistency models, circuit breakers, internal DSLs, and low-latency API design patterns.
  • Proficient with Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch; have tuned systems for high throughput and sub-50ms latencies.
  • Comfortable working in a remote-first team with a culture of ownership, documentation, and asynchronous communication.
  • Passion for clean code, testability, and driving engineering excellence via automation and tooling.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate technologies.
