Job Opportunity

The ideal candidate for this Data Science position will be responsible for preparing and installing various Posit products, including Workbench and Connect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare target servers to meet system requirements for each Posit product, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Verify network configuration to guarantee access to necessary repositories and facilitate inbound/outbound network traffic, maintaining a secure environment.
  • Install R, Python, Quarto, and Workbench packages on supported OS platforms, ensuring compatibility and stability.
  • Configure Workbench through configuration files, setting up users, session management, and resource limits, optimizing the user experience.
  • Start the Workbench service and ensure it runs on startup, guaranteeing continuous operation.
  • Test installations by accessing Workbench through a web browser, verifying successful implementation.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure Posit Connect, including editing the connect.gcfg file and setting up SSL certificates, enhancing security and functionality.
  • Set up and test Posit Package Manager, including configuring client R environments and installing packages, streamlining the development process.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance tasks, including updating and patching Posit products, monitoring license usage, and establishing a support plan, ensuring the smooth operation of systems.
