Job Overview

As a Lead Assistant Manager at EXL, you will be responsible for providing business insights and managing end-to-end project delivery. You will work closely with the Client team and EXL team to establish relationships with stakeholders, identify new opportunities, and areas of growth.

  • Emphasis is on providing business insights and managing end-to-end project delivery.
  • Should be able to work fairly independently on a problem without specific direction on analysis steps.
  • Structure analytical solutions to address business objectives and problem-solving.
  • Expected to work in close collaboration with the Client team and EXL team on establishing relationships with stakeholders, identifying new opportunities, and areas of growth.
  • Analyze structured and unstructured F&A data from several drivers in the interest of solving specific questions/problems with processes in the various functional areas.
  • Hands-on experience in data analytics tools like SQL, SAS, or Python.
  • Develop long-lasting, trusted advisor relationships with clients.
  • Provide project, client, and team management and monitor progress of deliverables on a daily basis and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
  • Ensure industry best practices are followed, communicate, and follow up with the delivery team.
  • Identify reasons for issues/issue resolution, diagnosis of inefficiencies in the current process, and figuring out ways to resolve it.
  • Facilitate client working sessions and lead recurring project status meetings.
  • Manage day-to-day project operations, serve as the functional and domain expert on the project team to ensure that they meet client expectations.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's/master's degree in economics, mathematics, computer science/engineering, operations research, MBA in finance, or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from top-tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply.
  • Proven experience in analytics with finance or insurance industry.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools like SQL, SAS, Python, or R.
  • Understanding of financial and accounting principles.
  • Experience in Power BI and other BI tools.
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong record of achievement, solid analytical ability, and an entrepreneurial hands-on approach to work.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Should be proactive and be able to work in a fast-paced and continuously evolving environment and ready to take up uphill challenges.
  • Must be able to understand cross-cultural differences and work with clients across the globe.
