Job Title: Senior Legal Executive

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated legal professional to join our dynamic legal team.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in litigation and corporate law, with experience in conducting comprehensive legal research, drafting critical documents, collaborating with external counsels, maintaining accurate cause-lists, assisting with case management, and performing groundwork for registration of key agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in preparation for trials and hearings, including drafting notices, plaints, written statements, and organizing evidence and exhibits.
  2. Collaborate with external counsels, including senior advocates and their teams, on case strategy and pleadings.
  3. Maintain up-to-date cause-lists tracker and keep management informed on the status of cases.
  4. Maintain and organize comprehensive legal files and documentation.
  5. Attend hearings, take adjournments/certified copies as needed, handle authorities visiting the company's premises, visit police stations to file cases/FIRs, etc.
  6. Coordinate end-to-end process for Registration of Agreements in Sub Registrar's Office.
  7. Peruse notices received from customers, police, government departments, vendors, etc., and draft responses by coordinating with relevant departments, represent before authorities as in-house counsel.
  8. Actively coordinate with other functional areas for day-to-day legal matters such as issuance of notices, recovery of payments, disciplinary actions, etc.
  9. Stay updated on legal trends and developments relevant to practice areas by researching relevant statutes, regulations, and case laws.

Desirable Experience:

  1. Drafting, vetting, negotiating, and settling corporate agreements such as non-disclosure agreements, customer agreements, vendor agreements, channel partner agreements, etc.
  2. Preparing and discussing strategies with management and external counsels to defend the company's legal cases.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a reputable institution.
  • 3-4 years of experience in handling litigations in a reputable law firm or corporate setting.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools such as Livelaw, Manu Patra, Westlaw, LexisNexis.
