Senior Java Migration Expert

About the Role:

You will play a crucial role in leading the strategic transition of .NET applications to a Java-based ecosystem within the banking sector. With extensive experience in both .NET and Java development, coupled with profound domain knowledge in the banking sector, you will design, implement, and oversee the seamless transfer of critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute technical migration strategies from .NET to Java, ensuring data integrity and minimizing disruptions to business operations.
  • Architect robust and scalable Java-based solutions that adhere to industry best practices and security standards within the banking sector.
  • Analyze existing .NET applications to identify migration challenges, dependencies, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Mentor engineers on Java development best practices, migration techniques, and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure successful project delivery.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on large-scale applications.
  • Expertise in both .NET (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core) and Java (Spring Boot, Microservices, J2EE).
  • Proven experience in leading or significantly contributing to large-scale application migration projects from .NET to Java.
  • Deep understanding of banking domain concepts, including financial products, regulatory compliance, and security considerations.
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SOAP services, ORM (Hibernate/JPA), and event-driven systems (Kafka, MQ).
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with migration tools, version control systems (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with security protocols (OAuth2, JWT, SAML, TLS).
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps and automated testing frameworks.
