We are seeking an experienced Editor to join our team of sports journalism professionals. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about sports and storytelling to work in a fast-paced, rapidly expanding media company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for editing and publishing high-quality articles on various sports topics, ensuring that they meet the standards of our readers. They will also work closely with our writers, editors, and content managers to refine and elevate the content we publish.

Responsibilities:

  • Editing and publishing 18-20 articles per day, maintaining the high quality of our content.
  • Fact-checking and researching articles to ensure their accuracy and relevance.
  • Working closely with the content quality (CQ) team to continuously improve our content.
  • Collaborating with writers and other editors to develop article ideas and create engaging content.
  • Mentoring junior writers and editors to help them grow and evolve as contributors to the team.
  • Staying up-to-date with breaking news and events to ensure our readers have the latest information.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in English, media/journalism, or a related field.
  • At least 6-12 months of experience in sports content editing, proofreading, or a similar role.
  • Strong command of the English language and understanding of American culture.
  • Creative energy and ability to bring unique perspectives to our articles.
  • Analytical skills to analyze article performance metrics and use insights to elevate content quality.
  • Basic understanding of SEO principles, including crafting engaging headings and subheadings.
  • Leadership skills to inspire, guide, and mentor a team of writers.
