Job Overview

Role Summary:

We seek an experienced Digital Commerce Architect to lead ecommerce implementations for clients transitioning to cloud-based platforms.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with our delivery team and client stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition enhancing customer experience while maintaining operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Platform Architecture & Implementation:
  • Define the ecommerce architecture vision, roadmap, and standards aligned with business objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies and platforms such as Magento, Shopify, and Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  • Lead end-to-end implementation of cloud-based ecommerce platforms with preference for at least 2 platforms.
  • Design headless commerce architecture to support omnichannel customer experiences.
  • Architect scalable solutions capable of handling retail volumes and complexity.
  • Ensure platform integration with existing enterprise systems and third-party services.

Order Management & Systems Integration:
  • Design comprehensive Order Management Systems tailored for grocery operations.
  • Architect integration solutions connecting ecommerce platforms with inventory management systems, payment processing platforms, CRM systems, ERP systems, WMS, third-party logistics providers, and fulfillment partners.

Grocery-Specific Solutions:
  • Implement timeslot management systems for delivery and pickup scheduling.
  • Design solutions for perishable goods handling, inventory rotation, and expiration management.
  • Architect multi-location inventory visibility and fulfillment routing.
  • Implement grocery-specific features including substitution management, weight-based pricing, and department-specific workflows.

Technical Leadership:
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Lead technical discussions and solution presentations with client teams.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for ecommerce platform selection and implementation.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, scalability, and performance requirements.

Requirements:
  1. At least 10 years of hands-on ecommerce experience with demonstrable track record of successful implementations, must have grocery implementation.
  2. Proven experience with at least 2 cloud-based ecommerce platforms such as Magento, Shopify, and Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
  3. Full implementation experience from requirements gathering through go-live and post-launch optimization.
  4. Grocery retail industry experience with understanding of unique operational challenges and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Certification in chosen ecommerce platforms such as Shopify Plus, Commerce Tools, and Magento.
  2. Experience with domain-specific technologies such as POS systems, scale integration, and loyalty programs.
  3. Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for food retail is a plus.
  4. Experience with mobile commerce and progressive web applications.
  5. Understanding of modern DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
