The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the technical and operational lease accounting function, ensuring complete and accurate financial close, internal, and external reporting, and the end-to-end lease cycle.

This position requires collaboration with other functional teams to create efficiency, automation, and standardization over the end-to-end process.

  • Maintain and enhance shared service / centralized lease accounting close and reporting process, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company policy and procedures for the accurate and timely payment / billing of leases.
  • Support the end-to-end lease accounting process by maintaining proper accounting and documentation of all activity in accordance with U.S. GAAP and in compliance with internal and external audits.
  • Analyze legal documents and determine lease classification in accordance with U.S. GAAP ASC 842.
  • Review lease classification testing in accordance with U.S. GAAP ASC 842.
  • Collaborate regularly with senior staff on various projects.
  • Complete month-end close processes including subledger work in CoStar, general ledger entries, and internal and external financial reporting deliverables, including reconciliations, roll forwards, footnotes, and controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of lease transactions.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and technical research to help analyze or support organizational decisions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You should also have knowledge of lease accounting, U.S. GAAP, and ASC 842.
