The Logistics Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing our logistics and supply chain operations, encompassing the management of transportation, warehousing, distribution, and inventory to ensure cost efficiency, timely delivery, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service.
We are seeking an accomplished professional who can develop and implement strategic logistics plans aligned with business objectives and drive continuous process improvements across our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and monitor all inbound and outbound logistics operations.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods to internal and external customers.
- Oversee warehouse efficiency, inventory control, and storage optimization to minimize waste and maximize productivity.
- Develop and implement logistics policies, procedures, and performance metrics to drive operational excellence.
Critical Tasks:
- Optimize logistics costs through vendor negotiations, route planning, and load optimization to reduce expenses.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce lead times, enhance efficiency, and improve overall quality.
- Monitor and control logistics budgets, ensuring alignment with financial targets and driving profitability.
Safety Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements related to logistics, transport, and import/export, maintaining a safe working environment for employees and stakeholders.
- Implement safety standards in logistics and warehousing operations to prevent accidents and injuries.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and supervise logistics staff, warehouse teams, and drivers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Manage and evaluate third-party logistics (3PL) providers, freight forwarders, and transporters, optimizing relationships and services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders, promoting effective communication and cooperation.
Technical Requirements:
- Utilize ERP/WMS/TMS systems for logistics planning, execution, and reporting, ensuring seamless integration and data-driven decision-making.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, transportation costs, inventory accuracy, and warehouse efficiency, identifying areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular management reports for review, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, transportation, and warehousing best practices.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering results-oriented solutions.
- Leadership and team management skills, with experience in leading high-performing teams and managing change initiatives.
- Proficiency in ERP, WMS, and MS Office applications, with experience in using technology to drive business outcomes.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management, with a proven track record of success.
- Experience in the medical devices or pharma industry, with knowledge of regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale logistics operations and teams, with experience in driving change and achieving results.
