Legal Affairs and Risk Management Overview

• Mitigate Risks to Drive Business Success: Lead the management of legal affairs, identifying and mitigating risks to drive business success.
• Structure Transactions and Contracts: Structure transactions, products, contracts, and set up procedures along best practices to negotiate arrangements and legal terms with third parties.
• Resolve Legal Problems: Resolve legal problems and propose solutions that help business lines complete their transactions or resolve issues within the company's operational/legal framework.
• Manage Litigation and Disputes: Manage litigation, arbitration, mediation, NCLT, rent matters, cheque dishonor, criminal complaints, and other disputes.
• Provide Legal Advice: Rendert legal advice on various business agreements/projects.
• Strategize Recovery Value: Strategize and drive to maximize recovery value.
• Communicate with Regulators: Communicate with government and regulators, authorities, etc.
• Brand Equity and Image Building: Provide advisory services for brand equity and image building.
• Update Management: Update management regarding contingent liabilities and litigation costs.
• Property Matters: Advise on property matters pertaining to obtaining premises on leave and license basis.
• Criminal Complaints: Finalize criminal complaints in cases of fraud and coordinate with security consultants.
• POSH Matters: Assist and render legal advice in POSH matters.
• Vet Business Contracts: Vet business contracts on a regular basis pertaining to foreign exchange, corporate travel, e-biz, and other departments.
• Data Protection Agreements: Vet data protection agreements and GDPR compliant documents.
• Critical Agreements: Draft critical agreements, giving advise on critical agreements during Covid-19 phase.

About This Role

• Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead Legal Affairs and Mitigate Risks: We are looking for an experienced General Manager-Legal to lead our legal affairs and mitigate risks to drive business success.
2. Structure Transactions and Contracts: The successful candidate will be responsible for structuring transactions, products, contracts, and setting up procedures along best practices to negotiate arrangements and legal terms with third parties.
3. Resolve Legal Problems: They will also resolve legal problems and propose solutions that help business lines complete their transactions or resolve issues within the company's operational/legal framework.
4. Manage Litigation and Disputes: Managing litigation, arbitration, mediation, NCLT, rent matters, cheque dishonor, criminal complaints, and other disputes is a key responsibility of this role.
5. Provide Legal Advice: The General Manager-Legal will provide legal advice on various business agreements/projects.
